The Challenge

In 2006, Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) scheduled the REALifelines Wounded and Injured Veterans Employment Summit to share key information about federal, state, and community programs that help wounded and injured veterans with recovery and ensure their successful return to the workforce. VETS engaged Mind & Media to build general awareness of the REALifelines for Injured Vets program, to promote the event itself, and to make event information more broadly accessible on the Web.

The Solution

Mind & Media developed an eye-catching micro-website within HireVetsFirst.gov to promote the summit before it occurred and to make the event experience and resources available to the target audience after the event was held. This micro-website included:

  • General information about the Recovery & Employment Assistance Lifelines (REALifelines) program
  • An informative summary video capturing highlights from the summit
  • Eight instructive webcast presentations that allowed those who did not attend the event to watch the summit speakers and view the presentation materials

The Results

Mind & Media’s informative micro-website achieved overwhelmingly positive results by enabling VETS to build awareness of the summit. By providing this solution, Mind & Media allowed VETS to communicate vital information about best practices that support wounded and injured servicemembers in their return to the workforce.
