The Challenge

National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) came to Mind & Media looking for an alternative to the “same old” annual banquet video. Instead, NPCA wanted us to create something compelling and timeless—a video that could be used long past its debut at their annual awards dinner and could serve as:

  • An inspirational tool to reinforce to current NPCA members the excellent parks advocacy work their support has made possible
  • An informational tool to give visitors to NPCA’s website a clear understanding of the organization’s mission and motivate them to join
  • A development tool to help raise money and heighten awareness

The Solution

Mind & Media conducted research to get a full sense of the organization’s culture, mission, and membership, as well as their extensive parks education, advocacy, and research initiatives. Having a deeper understanding of the organization’s culture allowed Mind & Media to conceptualize a script and visual theme for the video that would perfectly match that culture—allowing viewers to understand not only what NPCA did, but how being involved with NPCA would make them feel.

The Results

The end result was a beautifully designed video presentation that addressed all of NPCA ’s needs and audiences. Filled with sweeping images of dramatic landscapes, rare wildlife, and irreplaceable American historical sites, the video showed just how much NPCA has managed to protect, and just how much the country stands to lose if NPCA’s work does not continue.

Throughout, evocative narration and moving testimonials helped to inspire, inform, and encourage support for NPCA’s work. Mind & Media also produced a streaming media version of the video so that NPCA is able to broadcast it on their website, which will enable more donors to have a chance to see it.
