The ChallengeBecause deployment in today’s Army National Guard is at an all-time high, it’s more important than ever to retain combat-ready soldiers committed to the Guard and its mission. Each year, however, more and more soldiers have opted to leave the Guard rather than reenlist. Guard leaders needed a way to pinpoint the causes of this attrition and assess the perceptions leading to it.
The SolutionWith its partner, ICF International/Caliber Associates, Mind & Media developed the StayGuard Survey Series to poll and give voice to soldiers about their Guard experiences so that leaders can proactively manage attrition. The StayGuard Survey Series:
The ResultsAs of March 2007, over 160,000 StayGuard surveys have been administered and analyzed.. With the resulting data, National Guard leaders have been able to develop programs that proactively address the causes of attrition. As a result, the Guard has been able to better support soldiers and their families and retain a combat-ready, mission-focused force.
