The Challenge

Imagine that it was your job to look into the future of medical practice and pick the tests and treatments that we’ll be using five or ten years from now. How would you make your decisions? And how would you explain the tests and treatments to a non-medical audience? Those were two of the many challenges facing Mind & Media when we decided to produce Frontiers of Medicine, a public television program about cutting-edge medical advances.

 

The Solution

Mind & Media appointed distinguished medical researchers and clinicians to the Frontiers advisory board. Drawing on the board’s expertise, we selected the most promising technologies to feature on the show.

To make Frontiers’ 39 half-hour episodes accessible—and interesting—to a general audience, we used proven storytelling techniques, including featuring the struggles of ordinary people who were facing tough medical challenges.

Our production team used carefully crafted graphics and skillful editing to tell the stories visually, with narration to add important details.

Mind & Media also created marketing materials for the show and designed, programmed, and launched an educational Frontiers of Medicine website.

 

The Results

Winner of four prestigious industry awards, Frontiers of Medicine gave audiences insight into complex medical challenges and possible solutions under development. Our marketing materials helped put Frontiers into 19 of the top 20 US television markets.
