Hunter Brings Video Production Skills to Mind & Media
December 2001—With the production demands of our television
series Parent Sense (which we're co-producing with
the Dr. Spock Company), Mind & Media has added another member
to our team. We welcome Jason Hunter as Communication Architect.
He holds a BA in video production and photojournalism from
Virginia Tech and brings additional multimedia expertise in
Director and Flash. Jason will be assisting with the show's
production, and will use his multimedia talents for projects
such as the National Guard's RAISE program and STI's Rapid
Decision Trainer.
Mind & Media Creates Interactive Multimedia
November 2001—Mind & Media's multimedia team created
an interactive demo CD for Simulation Technologies Incorporated
(STI) called the Rapid Decision Trainer (RDT). STI offers
realistic simulation, modeling, and training products and
services to the government and private sectors. The Rapid
Decision Trainer contains briefings and first-person perspective
scenarios that teach users to make quick decisions in emergency
or military situations. The scenarios immerse the user in
these situations with graphics, video, Flash, and audio elements
that make the training more realistic. Mind & Media will continue
to create more scenarios for STI's RDT project on a variety
of subjects.
Mind & Media Wins Multiple Awards
October 2001—Mind & Media adds two awards to its trophy
case this month. Our video In Their Own Words received
a Platinum Best of Show Aurora Award in the Social Issues/Report/Documentary
category, and Impacts of UXO Response Action on the Environment received a Gold Aurora Award in the Social Issues Instruction
category. Additionally, Marilyn Finnemore, Mind & Media's
president, was named as one of the Top 100 Producers of 2001
by AV Video Multimedia Producer magazine.
Mind & Media Wins $25 Million Contract
September 2001—In August, the US Army National Guard
Bureau awarded Mind & Media a five-year, $25-million Recruiting
& Retention contract. The communications projects over the
coming five years will include upgraded and new training kits
with engaging CDs, innovative websites, and much more.
Mind & Media Wins Multiple Awards
September 2001—Mind & Media is the proud recipient
of CINDY Awards for our YOU CAN School Program interactive
multimedia presentation and our Impacts of UXO Response
Actions on the Environment video. Additionally, Hispanic
Business magazine ranked Mind & Media 16th in its "2001
Hispanic Business Fastest Growing 100."
Mind & Media Embarks on a New Documentary
August 2001—The Mind & Media production crew has
embarked on a new documentary, What Happened, about
the recent collapse of the dot-com industry. The crew is traveling
around the country interviewing dot-com industry insiders.
The documentary will be finished in time for submission to
the Sundance Film Festival.
Mind & Media Wins Three Silver AXIEM Awards
June 2001—Mind & Media is the proud recipient of three
new prestigious AXIEM awards. Our multimedia projects YOU
CAN School Program: interactive Presenter's Guide
and Mind & Media: interactive marketing CD each
won a Silver AXIEM, along with our Pulse demo
video.
Mind & Media Develops Interactive Presentations
May 2001—Mind & Media is using our new high-end multimedia
systems to create an interactive presentation for the Army
National Guard LINK Program. LINK distributes computers and
software to National Guard soldiers and keeps them connected
to the Guard, family, and friends through VirtualArmory.com.
Designed to play at the computer's start-up, this interactive
presentation incorporates animation, high-end graphics, and
Web access to promote and explain the LINK program.
New Video Talent Joins Team
April 2001—Mind & Media welcomes Chris Ammon to our
team as a Communication Architect. Chris holds a bachelor's
degree in communication studies with a minor in creative writing
from Virginia Tech. His experience in script writing, non-linear
video editing, and multimedia development are a great contribution
to Mind & Media's team.
Mind & Media Wins Four Telly Awards
February 2001—Mind & Media added four awards to its
trophy case this month. Our video National Republican Roundup
received Tellys in the Political and Fundraising categories.
Additionally, our videos Impacts of UXO Response Action
on the Environment and Inova Alexandria Hospital won Tellys in the Government Relations and Health & Medicine
categories.
Mind & Media Wins Four More Awards
January 2001—Mind & Media is the proud recipient of
four new Communicator Awards. Our video National Republican
Roundup received awards in the Creativity/Concept and
Fundraiser categories. Additionally, our National Guard YOU
CAN School Program won awards in the Interactive CD
and Grades K–12 categories.
