Answer The Call

The Challenge

Because today’s National Guard is facing more challenging personnel demands than at any time in the past 50 years, the National Guard needed a program that would encourage soldiers to stick with their units.

The Solution

Mind & Media created LEAD, a comprehensive training strategy that helps Guard leaders keep their soldiers in boots while providing essential leadership training. We:

  • Conducted focus groups with Guard soldiers and leaders in the field
  • Worked with Guard subject matter experts to make sure that LEAD included real-world problems and solutions
  • Assessed available technology to identify a common training platform

To implement the training strategy, Mind & Media’s in-house instructional design team created a coordinated LEAD curriculum. Each of LEAD’s 20 modules features:

  • Branded graphic designs for all materials
  • Videos, computer graphics, audio, music, and on-screen text
  • Easy-to-understand lesson plans with hands-on exercises and handouts

The LEAD program also includes a self-directed train-the-trainer course that gives Guard leaders the information they need to deliver great LEAD presentations.

The Results

Winner of 11 industry awards, LEAD has received an overwhelmingly positive response, and will eventually reach 350,000 Guard members, here and abroad.
