Knowledge Management System

The Challenge

Over a three-year period, Mind & Media nearly doubled its staff and acquired a second office location. Th is tremendous expansion introduced a series of internal challenges to the cornerstones of the company’s success, which include employee and team efficiency and content accuracy.

The Solution

Following the successful model of Mind & Media University (MMU), an in-house tool created and employed to overcome new hire training challenges, company leadership identifi ed a similar need to create a tool capable of streamlining and strengthening existing knowledgesharing platforms, processes, and policies.

Mind & Media’s knowledge management taskforce transformed the company’s existing intranet, the Brain, into a wiki-based knowledge management system (KMS): the Brain 2.0.

Launched in 2007, this comprehensive, collaborative wiki gives employees:

  • Easy access to information related to any client- or company-related topic
  • Comprehensive present and past project insight
  • Streamlined document management and version control
  • Current client- and project-related research
  • Centralized company history, policies, and HR info
  • Integrated new hire training with the newly launched MMU Online

The Results

The Brain 2.0 now serves as Mind & Media’s primary resource, communication, and collaboration tool. Its easily searched 20,000+ pages and 500+ documents give employees the right information right when they need it—saving time and ensuring the content accuracy essential to Mind & Media’s success.
