Web-Based Training
Cyveillance, Inc.

The Challenge

Cyveillance’s three-hour, executive-level classroom course, “Cyber Safety 101,” helps participants recognize and avoid attacks on their personal or company information by “phishers” using an array of email and web ploys. Cyveillance wanted to repurpose the classroom course as a one-hour, online course deliverable via LMS so that they could offer the course to more clients at a lower cost. Mind & Media’s challenge was to distill the information to its essentials and present it in a way that keeps the level of engagement and participation high without the benefit of a live trainer gauging understanding and answering questions.

The Solution

Mind & Media’s instructional designers and media developers:

  • Edited content down to the essentials, “chunking” it appropriately for the online environment and writing interactive exercises to engage users and test for learning
  • Videotaped Cyveillance presenters, coaching them to deliver some of the most interesting examples on camera to retain the flavor and interest of the classroom version
  • Seamlessly integrated video footage with kinetic typography and still photographs and graphics to create an attractive, visually interesting course
  • Designed an attractive online media player to house the presentation and programmed the course and all interactive exercises

The Results

Cyveillance’s original client was delighted with the online course, which was rapidly deployed to their 9,000 member workforce.
