ACS CAN

The Challenge

The American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) recruits hundreds of new volunteers each year to advocate for change on cancer-related issues. While having such an extensive network of new volunteers is critical to moving forward with the mission and efforts of ACS CAN, they had no standard level of awareness and education for volunteers in different states and regions.

The Solution

To address the challenges facing ACS CAN, Mind & Media created “Advocacy with ACS CAN: An Introduction,” a 45-minute web-based training course that ensures volunteers coast to coast quickly gain an understanding of their roles and responsibilities, as well as the resources available to help them fulfill their obligations.

To engage users and reinforce key learning points, the course includes:

  • Full audio narration
  • Interactive exercises
  • Image-enhanced quizzes to engage users
  • Testimonial videos that highlight positive anecdotes about volunteer experiences

The Results

ACS CAN now has an engaging, easily accessible way to educate current and prospective volunteers about both the level of commitment required to be an Ambassador and the larger lifesaving impact of the ACS CAN mission.
